Over the years, some of the premier New Jersey horse shows were held here, in the Village Green riding rings and surrounding fields. The club was active until the late 1970s, and was revived in the early 1990s. During the last few years, the club has been building its membership and its show schedule. The club now hosts a major schooling show on Memorial Day Weekend, seven C-rated USA Equestrian shows, and several local shows. The Club's philosophy It is to instill self-confidence, self reliance, and maximum responsibility for the horses well being with each rider attending to thier own tack and to the horses needs. Riders who have decided to continue beyond their initial lessons are encouraged to join the Riding Club to take advantage of significant membership benefits: Free attendance in the spring clinic ($75 for non members) Free coaching at at all 8 Smoke Rise Home Shows ($280 dollars for non members) Free admission for children at the Holiday Party ($12 for non members) 20% discount for new members at Barnard's Saddlery.
